Choosing the right PDF tool

PDF Tools on FreeMicroTools handle the everyday PDF jobs: combining files, splitting or extracting pages, shrinking a PDF under an upload limit, turning pages, converting photos to a PDF, and adding page numbers or a watermark. Every PDF tool works inside your browser, so contracts, certificates and ID documents are never uploaded, and none adds a watermark of its own.

Choose by the result you need. To put several documents in one file, use Merge PDF; to send only some pages, use Split PDF. When a portal limits uploads to a size such as 100 KB, 200 KB or 1 MB, use Compress PDF with Exact size, which keeps text sharp and lowers picture quality only as far as needed. To send phone photos or scans as one document, use JPG to PDF first, or HEIC to PDF for iPhone photos still in HEIC, then compress the PDF if it is still too large.

For finished documents, Add Page Numbers and Add Watermark place text on every page or on the pages you pick, and Rotate PDF fixes sideways scans permanently. Converting PDFs to Word or Excel and reading text from scans are on the roadmap, because they need our own servers.

Questions

How do I reduce a PDF to under 200 KB?

Open Compress PDF, choose Exact size and pick 200 KB, then press Compress PDF. The tool keeps the best picture quality that fits under 200 KB, and text stays sharp because it is never turned into a picture.

Are my PDFs uploaded when I use these PDF tools?

Can I edit the text inside a PDF or convert it to Word?

Not yet. The PDF tools combine, split, compress, rotate, number and watermark PDFs. PDF to Word, PDF to Excel and reading text from scans are on the FreeMicroTools roadmap.
