How it works

When a portal asks for A4

Many forms and upload portals reject pages that are not A4, or print them shrunk. Resizing to A4 first, with Scale to fit, gives a file that prints edge to edge the same way everywhere. If the portal also sets a file size limit, run the result through Compress PDF afterwards.

Will a Letter page fit on A4 without cutting?

Yes. Letter is wider and shorter than A4, so with Scale to fit the content is reduced by about 6 percent and nothing is cut; a small white strip appears at the top and bottom.
