FreeMicroTools is built to collect as little as possible. This policy covers the whole site at https://freemicrotools.com. Each tool also has its own short privacy page describing exactly what that tool does.

The short version

Files you use with the tools

PDF and image tools do their work inside your browser. The files are read and changed on your own device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. Closing the page discards them. Images that a tool saves for you are created fresh from the picture, so hidden details such as the location a photo was taken are not copied into them. The Passport Photo Maker works the same way: your photo is cropped and the print sheets are made on your device, and when you download one we count only the photo size and the kind of download, never anything about the photo. The Exam Photo and Signature Resizer also works entirely on your device, and its count records only the exam and whether a photo or a signature was saved. The HEIC to JPG Converter decodes your iPhone photos inside your browser as well; the converter it loads for this is served from our own site, and it counts only how many photos were downloaded and in which format. The HEIC to PDF Converter uses the same converter to place your photos into a PDF on your device, and it counts only how many photos went in, the page size and the size of the file, never anything about the photos. The PSD to PNG Converter reads Photoshop files and their layers on your device too; details saved inside them, such as the author and editing history, are not copied into the pictures it makes, and it counts only how many files or layers were downloaded and in which format. The EPUB to PDF Converter reads your ebook and makes the PDF on your device as well; links and pictures in the book that point to other websites are not loaded, the typeface it uses comes from our own site, and it counts only the page size, the text size and roughly how many pages, never the book or its title. Sign PDF shows and signs your document on your device too: the signature you draw, type or photograph is made in your browser, kept only while the tab is open and never uploaded, and it counts only what kinds of things were added and whether the signature was drawn, typed or uploaded.

The Audio Converter works the same way: your audio files are opened and converted by your browser on your own device and are never uploaded. The MP3 and OGG encoders it needs are downloaded from our own site. When a converted file is downloaded we count only the formats, the quality setting and how many files, never anything about the audio or its name. The Audio Trimmer and MP3 Cutter opens, plays, cuts and saves your audio on your device in the same way, and counts only whether a part was kept or cut out, the lengths, the format and whether fades were used. The BPM Finder analyses and plays the song on your device too, and times taps in your browser; it counts only the method, the rounded tempo and how confident the result was. The Pitch Shifter changes and saves the song on your device as well, and counts only the pitch change, the format and whether voices were kept natural.

The Social Media Image Resizer opens your picture and makes every platform size from it on your device; the picture and the files it saves are never uploaded. We count only whether one size or a ZIP was saved and which fit was chosen.

The Aspect Ratio Calculator can read the width and height of a picture you choose; the picture is opened by your browser on your device for that alone and is never uploaded. We count only that a ratio was worked out, never the sizes.

The Online Stopwatch and Timer saves its current state (the running stopwatch, its laps and the timer) in your browser's own storage on your device, so a reload does not lose it. That record never leaves your device and Reset clears it. We count only whether the stopwatch or the timer was started, never the times.

The Image Color Picker opens the picture you choose or paste on your device to show it and read its colours; the picture is never uploaded and nothing is kept once you close the page. We count only whether a colour or a palette was made.

Image to Text reads the pictures and PDFs you choose, drop or paste on your device; they are never uploaded and the text read from them is not sent anywhere. The first time you use it, your browser fetches the text-reading program and the language data from this site. We count only how many pictures were read and in which language, and whether the text was copied.

The Wheel Spinner saves the list of entries you type in your browser's own storage on your device, so it is there next time; the list never leaves your device and Clear removes it. We count only how many entries were spun, never the entries.

The Typing Test checks what you type in your browser and does not send or keep it. Your best score (speed, accuracy, test length and date) is saved in your browser's own storage on your device; it never leaves the device. We count only finished tests and their length, never the score.

The network tools (DNS Lookup, WHOIS Lookup, SSL Certificate Checker and What Is My IP) cannot work inside your browser, so they are the exception to keeping everything on your device: the domain name, web address or IP address you type is sent to our server, which asks the public DNS, the registry that runs that domain or address, or the server whose certificate you are checking, and returns the answer to you. What you type is used for that lookup only and is not stored or logged by us. A few registries turn away lookups from servers like ours; then the WHOIS Lookup has your browser ask that registry directly for its public record, so the registry sees your connection's address as it would if you visited its website, and our server reads the record your browser passes back. What Is My IP reads the address your connection comes from in order to show it to you, and does not keep it. To keep these tools available, each connection may make a limited number of lookups per hour, counted with a scrambled code that changes every day and cannot be turned back into your address. We count how many lookups are made, never what was looked up.

The DPI Checker opens and measures your image on your device as well. The image is never uploaded, and the print sizes you type stay in your browser. It counts only which viewing distance was chosen and which of its four verdicts came out, never anything about the image, its name or its size. The DPI Changer relabels your images on your device in the same way and counts only the DPI that was set and the kind of file. It is the one image tool here that does not make a fresh picture: apart from the DPI label, the file it saves is an exact copy of yours, so details already saved inside it, such as the camera model or the place a phone photo was taken, are still there. Add Bleed and Crop Marks rebuilds your PDF on your device too; links, form fields and comments are not copied into the new file, and it counts only how the bleed was made, the amount, whether marks were added and the number of pages. The PDF Print Check only reads your PDF, on your device, and changes nothing; the report stays with you, and it counts only the viewing distance chosen and how many points came out as things to fix or to check, never the document, its fonts or its pictures. PDF Fonts to Outlines rewrites your PDF on your device as well, and counts only how many fonts were converted, how many were left as text and how many pages, never the names of the fonts or a word of the text.

Crop PDF opens and measures your PDF on your device, draws each page small there to find the printed area, and writes the cropped copy there too. Nothing is uploaded, and it counts only whether the crop was found automatically or drawn by hand and how many pages were cropped, never the document. Resize PDF Pages rebuilds your PDF on your device in the same way and counts only the size chosen, how the content was placed and the number of pages. PDF to Text reads the text out of your PDF on your device; the text, and any password you type to open a locked file, never leave it, and it counts only the number of pages and whether lines were joined. Organize PDF shows and rebuilds your PDF on your device as well, and counts only how many pages were kept and turned. PDF to JPG draws your pages into images on your device and counts only the number of pages, the format and the sharpness. Unlock PDF and Protect PDF run a password program inside your browser, downloaded from our own site; the PDF and any password you type stay on your device, and they count only whether a password or a limit was removed or set and the encryption strength. PDF Form Filler reads and fills the form on your device, and counts only how many fields the form had and whether it was flattened, never an answer.

The Image Converter also opens TIFF, DDS and ICO files on your device. For TIFF it first downloads a reader from our own site; the file itself is never sent anywhere. PNG to DDS compresses your images into textures on your device and counts only the compression chosen, whether mipmaps were made and how many textures. PNG to SVG traces your image into shapes on your device, with a tracer it downloads from our own site, and counts only the colour and shape settings.

The Online Signature Generator draws, types or cleans up your signature on your device. The signature, your name and any photo you choose are never uploaded; it counts only how the signature was made, the format and the height.

Crop Image opens and crops your picture on your device in the same way. The picture is never uploaded, and it counts only the shape chosen, the format saved and the size of the crop in pixels, never the picture or its name. Rotate and Flip Image turns and saves your pictures on your device too, and counts only the turn, the format and how many images, never the pictures or their names. The Profile Picture Maker crops your photo on your device in the same way, and counts only the shape, the size and the format, never the photo. Add Watermark to Image draws your text or logo onto your pictures on your device as well; the pictures, the logo and the words are never uploaded, and it counts only whether the mark was text or a logo, its placement, the format and how many images. The Favicon Generator draws every icon size from your image or letters on your device and packs them into a ZIP there; nothing is uploaded, and it counts only whether the icons came from an image or letters.

The box on the home page works the same way. A file you drop there is read on your own device, only far enough to tell what kind of file it is, so that we can show you the tools that fit it; nothing about it is sent anywhere. If you then pick a tool, the file is handed to that page through your browser's own storage on your device, taken straight back out when the tool opens, and ignored if it is more than five minutes old. Nothing about the file is counted.

So that the home page can show you your own tools when you come back, your browser remembers which tools have finished a job on this device, when, and how many jobs in all. That note is kept in your browser's own storage on your device. It is never sent to us, it holds nothing about your files or what you typed, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Text tools and generators

The word counter, case converter, JSON formatter and JSON to CSV converter work on what you type, paste or open inside your browser; that text and those files are never sent to us, and the JSON to CSV converter counts only the direction of a conversion and roughly how many rows. The QR code generator turns links, Wi-Fi passwords, payment and contact details into a code on your device, and the code holds them directly rather than redirecting through our server, so we cannot see who scans it. The password generator creates passwords with your browser's own secure random number generator; they are never sent to us or stored. The password strength checker works the same way: the password you type is examined on your device against word lists downloaded from our own site, is never sent anywhere, and nothing about it is counted except which of the five strength levels was seen. When one of these tools asks whether it did the job, the short summary we receive describes the result, such as "16 characters, very strong" or "Wi-Fi, PNG", and never includes the text, password or details you entered.

The Base64 Encoder and Decoder works the same way on the text you type and the files you drop: they are encoded or decoded on your device and never uploaded. We count only the direction and whether the result was text or a file type. The JSON, YAML and XML Converter is the same: the text is read and rewritten on your device, and we count only which format went to which. The Character Counter, Diff Checker, Unix Timestamp Converter, Hash Generator and UUID Generator work the same way on what you type, paste or drop, and so does the Podcast Name Generator; the Character Counter reads your clipboard only when you press Paste. We count only the kind of job, never the content, a hash or a name. The Regex Tester, JWT Decoder, Cron Expression Explainer, Markdown to HTML Converter, Sort Lines, the Binary, Hex and Decimal Converter and the Lorem Ipsum Generator are the same: patterns, tokens, keys, schedules, documents, lists and numbers stay on your device, and a JWT signature is checked there with your browser's own cryptography. The Markdown converter's code is downloaded from our own site. We count only the kind of job, such as the direction of a conversion or the algorithm of a token. The URL Encoder and Decoder, the Text to Binary Converter, the SQL Formatter and the Random Number Generator work the same way: links, text, queries and the names you paste to pick from stay on your device, and SQL is never run. The SQL Formatter's code is downloaded from our own site. We count only the mode used, never the content or a result.

GST Invoice Generator

Everything you enter in the invoice generator, including business and customer names, addresses, GSTINs, amounts, bank details and a logo, stays in your browser, and the PDF is created on your device; none of it is sent to us. If you choose to have the tool remember your details, your own business, bank, UPI and notes details, your logo and your last invoice number are saved in your browser's storage on that device only, and are deleted when you untick the option. Customer details and items are never saved. When an invoice is downloaded we receive only the usage count described below: the number of items and whether a QR code or logo was used, never names, amounts or GSTINs.

The Invoice Generator works the same way. Business and customer names, addresses, tax numbers, prices, bank details, payment links and a logo stay in your browser, and the PDF is created on your device. If you choose to have it remember your details, your own business details, your currency, tax and payment settings, notes, logo and last invoice number are saved in your browser's storage on that device only, and are deleted when you untick the option; customer details, items and amounts are never saved. A payment link you enter is only printed on your invoice and turned into a QR code on your device; we never open it or receive it. When an invoice is downloaded we count only the number of items, the currency code, the kind of tax and whether a QR code or logo was used.

The Business Plan Template works the same way. Everything you write, your figures and a logo stay in your browser, and the PDF and the Word file are made on your device. If you choose to keep your draft, the whole draft is saved in your browser's storage on that device only, and is deleted when you untick the option; a draft file you save is an ordinary file on your own device. When a plan is downloaded we count only the kind of plan, how many sections were written, whether it was a PDF or a Word file and whether a forecast or logo was included, never a word or a figure from the plan.

The Listing Title Optimizer checks the title and keywords you type inside your browser against rules we copied from the marketplaces' own published guidance. Nothing is sent to us or to any marketplace, and nothing is stored. When a title is copied we count only the marketplace, the length and the score, never the title.

The Lakh Crore Converter works on the numbers you type inside your browser. They are never sent to us or stored; when you copy a result we count only which kind of result was copied, never the number.

The Etsy Fee and Profit Calculator works the same way. The prices, postage and costs you type are worked out on your own device and are never sent to us or stored, and the fee rates it uses are built into the page rather than fetched from anywhere. It has no connection to Etsy: it uses no Etsy login, reads nothing from your shop and sends nothing to Etsy. When it shows an answer we count only that it was used, the country setting and whether the Offsite Ads box was ticked, never an amount you typed.

The eBay Fee and Profit Calculator is the same. What you type is worked out on your own device and is never sent to us or stored, and the fee rates are built into the page. It has no connection to eBay: it uses no eBay login, reads nothing from your account and sends nothing to eBay. When it shows an answer we count only that it was used and which category was chosen, never an amount you typed.

The Amazon FBA Calculator is the same again. The prices, measurements and costs you type are worked out on your own device and are never sent to us or stored, and the rates are built into the page. It has no connection to Amazon: it uses no Amazon login, reads nothing from your account and sends nothing to Amazon. When it shows an answer we count only that it was used, which category was chosen and which size tier came out, never an amount or a measurement you typed.

The Bank Statement Converter reads a PDF statement on your device and makes the CSV or Excel file there. The statement, its password and the transactions are never uploaded or stored; we count only the output type, how many files and a rough row count.

The calculators (Roof Pitch, Concrete, Deck Material, Hours, Tip, Date Difference, Age, Percentage, EMI, GST, SIP, Compound Interest, BMI, Square Footage, GPA, Salary to Hourly, Due Date, Time Zone Converter, Paint, Gravel, Fraction, Military Time Converter, Grade, Unit Converter, Average, Mortgage, Calorie, Scientific, Countdown to a Date, Inflation, Pace and Sales Tax) work on the numbers and dates you type inside your browser. They are never sent to us or stored. We count only how many times a result is read and which option was used, such as the starting point or the unit, never a measurement, a time or a rate.

Web and SEO tools

The Color Converter, the UTM Link Builder and the Meta Tag Generator work on what you type inside your browser. A picture dropped on the Color Converter is read on your device to find its colours and is never uploaded. The UTM Link Builder can keep your recent links in your browser's own storage, on your device only, and you can clear them there. We count only that a colour was converted, a link built or a set of tags made, never the values. The Keyword Density Checker, the robots.txt Generator, the Redirect Generator and the URL Slug Generator are the same: the text, paths, addresses and titles you type are handled on your device and never sent.

The Twitter & X Video Downloader

When you paste a link, the link is sent to our server so it can ask X which videos are in that public post. The link is used for that one lookup and is not saved. The video then downloads directly from X's servers to your device, so X receives that request under X's own privacy policy. We never have a copy of the video.

The YouTube Thumbnail Downloader

The link you paste stays in your browser and is never sent to us. Your browser reads the video's id from it and asks YouTube directly for that video's thumbnails and for its title and channel name, so YouTube receives those requests under Google's privacy policy. The thumbnail is saved straight to your device. When one is downloaded we count only which size was saved, never which video.

Screenshot to Link

This is the only tool that keeps anything you give it, and only when you ask it to. Pasting, marking up, cropping and downloading a screenshot all happen in your browser, and nothing is sent. When you press Get link, the finished picture, with your marks and blurring already applied, is uploaded and stored on our server as one image file with a random name, outside the public part of the website. We do not keep its original file name, any camera or location data, or anything about who shared it.

Anyone who has the link can see the picture, so share it only with people you trust with it. Shared screenshots are hidden from search engines and never listed anywhere. Seven days after it is shared, the picture and its record are deleted for good. Delete now, on the tool page, deletes it sooner; your browser keeps a private delete code for that, together with a small preview, and never sends the list to us. We count how many times each shared screenshot is opened, with nothing about who opened it.

If a shared screenshot is reported, it is hidden at once and checked by a person, who either restores it or deletes it. We keep the reason given for the report until the screenshot itself is deleted. A screenshot may be kept beyond 7 days only if the law requires us to keep it, for example as evidence for the police.

What we count

When a page opens, it sends us the address of the page, the name of the website that linked you to it (for example, a search engine) and, if the link carried one, a short campaign tag. Like every website, we also receive your IP address and your browser's user-agent string with the request.

We use those to make a visitor code. We combine your IP address, your user-agent string and our site's name with a random secret, and scramble the result into a short one-way code. The secret is replaced with a new random one every day and the old one is thrown away. So the code changes daily, cannot be turned back into your address, and cannot be used to recognise you on another day, not even by us. It lets us count how many different people visited on a day, rather than just how many times pages were opened.

For each page opened we store the day, that code, the page, the name of the linking website or campaign tag, and whether the browser was on a phone, a tablet or a computer. Your IP address and user-agent string are not stored. No cookies are used and no outside analytics service is involved. These records are deleted after about 13 months. Visits from automated browsers, and from browsers set to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control, are not counted at all.

Anyone can see the totals on our open stats page: visitors per day and the most visited pages over the last 30 days. It never shows anything about an individual visit.

We also keep daily totals of tool actions, such as how many videos were looked up or how many PDFs were merged, with nothing about who did them.

Limits that stop abuse

Some tools limit how many requests one connection can make per hour. To do this we store a scrambled code made from your IP address, a secret key and the date, together with a request count. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your address.

Rating a tool

After you finish a job, a tool may ask whether it did the job. If you answer, we store your answer (yes or no), any reason or comment you choose to add, which tool it was, when you answered, and a short summary of the result you got, such as "Recommended · 2.1 MB → 640 KB". File names and file contents are never included.

To allow one rating per device and to spot automated or coordinated ratings, we also store two scrambled codes: one made from your IP address and a secret key, and one made from the first part of your IP address (your network). They cannot be turned back into your address, and they are cleared from ratings after 180 days. When you finish a job with a tool, we note the same code and the tool name for 24 hours, so a rating can be matched to a real use of that tool.

Your browser remembers on your own device that you answered or closed the question, so it is not asked again for a while. This is kept in your browser's storage, is not a cookie and is not sent to us. We may show a tool's overall score on its page, counted from ratings. We never publish your comment without asking you, or anything that identifies you.

When you contact us

The contact, support, tool suggestion and copyright forms ask for your email address, an optional name and your message, and note which page you sent it from. We store this in our database so we can answer, and an email copy is sent to our inbox through our email delivery provider, Resend. We keep messages for as long as we need them to handle your request and keep a record of it. Ask us and we will delete yours, unless we must keep it (for example, a copyright notice).

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, theirs may record standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the service secure and running. Those logs are handled under Hostinger's policies and are not used by us to identify or profile visitors.

Links to our sister sites

Pages about printing link to a print shop and a design studio run by the same owner as FreeMicroTools: 48HoursBanners.com for customers in the United States, and 300DPI.co in India. They are plain links to our own sister sites. No advertising network is involved, nobody pays for them, and they carry no tracking code. Where more than one is listed, every visitor gets the same links; your browser's time zone setting decides which is listed first, on your own device, and is not sent to us. If you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies there.

Cookies

The public site sets no cookies. Remembering that you answered a tool rating uses your browser's own storage, as described above. The only cookie we use is a login cookie for our own staff admin area, which visitors never see.

Browser extensions and payments

Browser extensions have their own privacy policies on their pages. FreeMicroTools does not take payments today. If a paid plan launches, payments will be handled by a payment processor such as Stripe, and this policy will be updated before then to describe it.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you (in practice, messages you have sent us), ask us to correct or delete it, and get an answer within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
