Age Calculator: Exact age in years, months and days, today or on any date you choose.

Enter a date of birth and get the exact age in years, months and days, counted by the calendar with leap years included, together with the total months, weeks, days and hours. Change the Age on date to work out age as on a set day, as job, exam and admission forms ask. You also see the weekday of birth, the next birthday with its weekday and a countdown, and the 10,000-day mark. 29 February birthdays and month ends are handled properly.

    How it works

Age Calculator is a web page that does its work on your own device. Everything you type or choose is worked out by your browser and never sent to a server, so nothing is stored and there is nothing to delete. There is no account, no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.

    Straight to one job

    Exact age, by the calendar

Enter a date of birth and the age appears in years, months and days, counted by the calendar the way people and forms count it, with leap years included: someone born on 15 May 1990 is 36 years, 4 months and 24 days old on 9 October 2026. Alongside are the totals in months, weeks, days and hours, the day of the week of the birth, the date and weekday of the next birthday with a countdown, and the day the person is or was 10,000 days old.

    Age on a set date

Applications for jobs, exams, school admission, sports age groups and pensions often ask for age as on a fixed date, not today, such as 1 August of the exam year or 31 December. Put that date in the Age on box and the result is worked out for that day, so you can check eligibility against an upper or lower age limit before you fill in the form. The age counts complete years: on the day before a birthday the person is still the younger age.

    Leap-day birthdays and month ends

A person born on 29 February has a birthday on that date only in leap years; in other years this calculator marks it on 28 February, and the facts note that some countries use 1 March for legal purposes. A month is counted from a date to the same date the next month; when that date does not exist, such as 31 April, the last day of the month is used, which is the usual convention.

What this tool does not do

    • It does not account for time of birth or time zone; ages are counted in whole days.
    • It does not decide eligibility; check the exact rule in the official notice for your exam or form.

    Questions

    How is age calculated?

Complete years since the date of birth, then complete months since the last birthday, then the days left over. Leap years are included because the calendar itself is counted, not an average year length.

How do I find age as on a particular date?

Put that date in the Age on box. The age is worked out for that day, which is what exam, job and admission forms mean by age as on a date.

Am I counted as older on my birthday?

Yes. On the birthday itself the new age is reached, and on the day before you are still the younger age, which is how most forms and laws count it.

What if I was born on 29 February?

In leap years the birthday is 29 February. In other years this calculator shows it on 28 February; some countries use 1 March for legal purposes, so check if it matters for a document.

How many days old am I?

The Days figure is the exact number of days from the date of birth to the Age on date. The facts also show when you are or were 10,000 days old.

Can I work out the age of something other than a person?

Yes. Enter any start date, such as a company's founding, a wedding or a pet's birth, and the result is the time since then.

    Does time of birth matter?

Not here: ages are counted in whole days. If a cut-off depends on the hour of birth, the official rules will say so.

    Is it free?

Yes, completely free, with no sign-up.
