How it works
Social Media Image Resizer is a web page that does its work on your own device. The file you choose is opened by your browser, changed there and saved from there; it is never sent to a server, so there is no copy of it anywhere to delete, no queue and no waiting for an upload. Most online tools of this kind send your file to their servers and work on it there, and many keep it for a while. This one does not. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it, and the result downloads the moment it is ready.

Instagram Image Resizer · YouTube Thumbnail Resizer
One image, every platform
Each social network wants its own shape: a square or a tall 4:5 for an Instagram post, 9:16 for stories and reels, a wide strip for a Facebook cover or an X header, 16:9 for a YouTube thumbnail, 2:3 for a pin. Drop one photo or design here and it is resized for all of them at once, previewed side by side, and saved one at a time or together in a single ZIP, each file named with its platform and size so you can find it when you post.
Cropping where you want it
Most sizes are a different shape from your image, so something has to give. By default the image fills each size and the edges are cropped; click the photo to choose the point that must stay in view, such as a face or a product, and every crop keeps it. If nothing may be cut, choose Show it all, and the image sits inside each size on a soft blurred copy of itself or a plain colour of your choice, the look many brands use for wide photos in tall stories.
The sizes
Where a platform's own help pages give a size, that size is used: Instagram's 1080-pixel width with shapes from 1.91:1 to 4:5, Facebook's 851 by 315 cover, X's 1500 by 500 header and 400 by 400 profile photo, LinkedIn's 1200 by 627 post image and 1512 by 256 page cover, YouTube's 16:9 thumbnail at least 640 wide, and Meta's 1200 by 630 link preview. Where a platform gives only a shape, the widely used size for that shape is used, such as 1080 by 1920 for 9:16 stories. Each card says when an image had to be enlarged, so you know when a sharper original would help.

Questions
Where do the sizes come from?
From each platform's own help pages, read on 9 October 2026, where they give a size: the Instagram Help Center (photos up to 1080 pixels wide, shapes from 1.91:1 to 4:5), Facebook Help (cover photo 851 by 315), X Help (header 1500 by 500, profile photo 400 by 400), LinkedIn Help (page post image 1200 by 627, page cover 1512 by 256), YouTube Help (thumbnails 16:9, at least 640 pixels wide) and Meta for Developers (link previews at least 1200 by 630). Where a platform gives only a shape, the size most widely used for it is used: 1080 by 1920 for 9:16 stories, 1000 by 1500 for 2:3 pins, 1584 by 396 for a LinkedIn profile background, 2560 by 1440 for a YouTube banner and 1600 by 900 for a 16:9 X post.
What size is an Instagram post?
1080 pixels wide: 1080 by 1080 for square, 1080 by 1350 for portrait (4:5) and 1080 by 566 for landscape (1.91:1). Stories and reels are 1080 by 1920.
Will my image be cropped?
With Fill the size it is, wherever the shape differs from yours; click the image to choose the point kept in view. Choose Show it all to fit the whole image inside each size on a blurred or plain background instead.
Why does a card say Enlarged?
Your image has fewer pixels than that size needs, so it was scaled up and may look soft. Use a larger original for those sizes if you can.
Which format should I save in?
JPG for photos, which keeps files small for upload. PNG for designs with text or flat colour, which stays crisp. WebP is smaller still where the platform accepts it.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It is resized by code running in your browser and never leaves your device.
Can I resize several images at once?
This tool takes one image and makes every size from it. For many images at one size, use the Image Resizer.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
