How to use Instagram Image Resizer

Takes about 2 minutes. You need one photo or design.

  1. Drop your imageDrop a photo or design on the box, or choose one. Previews for every size appear.
  2. Choose what stays in viewClick the part of the image that matters most; every crop is centred on it. Or choose Show it all for no cropping.
  3. DownloadUntick sizes you do not need, then download them all as a ZIP, or one at a time.
Social Media Image Resizer: Drop one image and get it sized for every social platform, cropped where you choose, in one ZIP.

Drop a photo and get it at Instagram's sizes: 1080 by 1080 square, 1080 by 1350 portrait, which takes up the most room in the feed, 1080 by 566 landscape and 1080 by 1920 for stories and reels. Click the part of the photo that matters to keep it in view, or fit the whole photo on a blurred background so nothing is cut.

How it works

Instagram Image Resizer is a web page that does its work on your own device. The file you choose is opened by your browser, changed there and saved from there; it is never sent to a server, so there is no copy of it anywhere to delete, no queue and no waiting for an upload. Most online tools of this kind send your file to their servers and work on it there, and many keep it for a while. This one does not. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it, and the result downloads the moment it is ready.

Portrait gets more of the screen

Instagram shows photos from 1.91:1 wide to 4:5 tall. A 4:5 portrait post is the tallest the feed allows, so it fills more of the screen than a square.

Questions

Why does Instagram crop my photo?

Photos wider than 1.91:1 or taller than 4:5 are cropped to fit. Resizing to one of these sizes first means you choose the crop, not the app.
