Copyright and DMCA Policy

FreeMicroTools respects the rights of creators and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Please read this first: we do not host videos

The Twitter & X Video Downloader does not store any video. It looks up a public post and the file downloads directly from X to the person's device. That means:

• To remove the video from the internet, report it to the platform that hosts it. For X, use the copyright report form in the X Help Center. Once X removes a post, our tool can no longer fetch it.
• To stop our tool fetching a video while that happens, send us a notice below. We block the post (or, where justified, every post from an account) from our downloader.

What a notice must include

For us to act, the law requires a written notice with all of the following:

1. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name counts).
2. The copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
3. The material you want blocked, with enough detail for us to find it, such as the link to each post.
4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
5. This statement: "I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
6. This statement: "The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. If you are not sure the use infringes your rights, consider getting legal advice first.

Send notices using the form below.

What happens next

When we receive a complete notice we block the material from our tools, usually within two business days, and confirm by email. An incomplete notice gets a reply saying what is missing.

Counter-notices

If material was blocked because of a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address with: your signature; the material that was blocked and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief it was blocked by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and telephone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if outside the US, any judicial district where FreeMicroTools may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.

Repeat infringers

We will stop providing our tools to anyone who repeatedly infringes copyright, where we are able to identify them. See also our Terms of Use.
