How to use PDF to PNG
- Choose your PDFPress Choose a PDF file or drop the PDF into the box. It opens in your browser and is not uploaded; type the password if it asks for one.
- Choose format and sharpnessPick JPG or PNG and Screen, Standard or Print. Type page numbers under Pages if you want only some of them.
- DownloadPress Download under a page for that page alone, or Download all (ZIP) for every page you chose.
PNG is already chosen, so every page is saved with its text, lines and diagrams exactly as drawn, with no soft JPG edges: right for slides, documentation, screenshots of forms and anything that will be zoomed into. Choose the sharpness, download one page or all of them in a ZIP. The PDF never leaves your browser.
How it works
PDF to PNG is a web page that does its work on your own device. The file you choose is opened by your browser, changed there and saved from there; it is never sent to a server, so there is no copy of it anywhere to delete, no queue and no waiting for an upload. Most online tools of this kind send your file to their servers and work on it there, and many keep it for a while. This one does not. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it, and the result downloads the moment it is ready.
When PNG is worth the size
PNG files of text pages are small, often smaller than JPG, because they compress flat colour well. Pages full of photographs make large PNG files; switch to JPG for those.
Questions
Are the PNG backgrounds transparent?
No. Pages are saved on white, like the paper, so the images look the same everywhere they are placed.
