The e-Aadhaar PDF you download from UIDAI asks for a password every time it is opened: the first four letters of your name in capitals followed by your year of birth, such as RAHU1988. Drop the PDF here, type that password once, and save a copy that opens anywhere without it, for example to attach to a form or keep on your phone. Everything happens on your own device; the PDF and the password are not uploaded. Keep the unlocked copy private, because it is no longer protected.
How it works
Aadhaar PDF Password Remover is a web page that does its work on your own device. The file you choose is opened by your browser, changed there and saved from there; it is never sent to a server, so there is no copy of it anywhere to delete, no queue and no waiting for an upload. Most online tools of this kind send your file to their servers and work on it there, and many keep it for a while. This one does not. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it, and the result downloads the moment it is ready.
What the e-Aadhaar password is
UIDAI makes the password from the first four letters of your name as written on the Aadhaar, in capital letters, followed by the four digits of your year of birth. A name with fewer than four letters uses the whole name; a name with a space uses the letters including the space. If the password is refused, check the spelling on the Aadhaar itself rather than how you usually write it.
Questions
Is it safe to remove the password from my Aadhaar?
The unlocked copy can be opened by anyone who has the file, so treat it like the card itself: share it only where it is needed, and keep the original locked copy as well. The unlocking happens on your device and the file is not sent anywhere.
