How to use Open Graph Generator

Takes about 2 minutes. You need the page's title, description and address.

    1. Describe the pageType the title, the meta description, the page URL, the site name and the address of the picture to show when the link is shared.
    2. Check the previewsSwitch between Desktop and Phone to see where the title and description are cut, read the notes, and adjust the wording until it fits.
    3. Copy the tagsPress Copy tags and paste them into the head of the page, replacing any existing title and meta tags, or download them as an HTML file.
Meta Tag Generator: Every head tag a page needs, with the search result and the shared link card previewed as you type.

Fill in the title, description, page URL, site name and social image, and copy the og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:type, og:site_name and og:locale tags along with the X card tags, following the Open Graph protocol. The card preview loads your image and shows the heading and text as a chat app or a feed would, so a missing picture or a cut heading is caught before the link is shared.

    How it works

Open Graph Generator is a web page that does its work on your own device. Everything you type or choose is worked out by your browser and never sent to a server, so nothing is stored and there is nothing to delete. There is no account, no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.

When the card does not update

Networks cache a link's card. After changing the tags, use the platform's debugger or sharing tool to refresh it, or add a query string to the link once; the tags themselves are right if the preview here shows them.

    Questions

    Which networks read Open Graph?

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, iMessage and most others. X reads twitter:card tags first and falls back to Open Graph, which is why both sets are written.
