Converting voice memos on iPhone
In Voice Memos, open the recording's options, tap Share and choose Save to Files. Then open this page in Safari, press Choose audio files, pick the memo from Files and download the MP3, which Safari saves to Downloads in the Files app.
M4A and AAC
M4A is the file type; the sound inside is usually AAC. Files ending in .aac work here too, and both convert to MP3 the same way.

How do I convert M4A to MP3 on iPhone?

How do I convert M4A to MP3 on Windows?

Can I convert songs from Apple Music?
No. Songs downloaded from Apple Music are protected, so they cannot be opened or converted. Your own recordings and unprotected M4A files work.
Does M4A to MP3 lose quality?
Both are compressed formats, so converting adds a little loss. At 192 kbps or higher it is very hard to hear, and for voice recordings 128 kbps sounds clear.
Are my recordings uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser, so private recordings stay on your device.
