How to use Domain Expiration Checker

Takes about 1 minute. You need the domain name or IP address.

  1. Type the domainType a domain such as example.com, a web address, or an IP address.
  2. Look it upPress Look up. The registry for that ending is asked directly.
  3. Read the recordSee the age, expiry, registrar, status, name servers and any published owner details.
WHOIS Lookup: A domain's registrar, age, expiry date and status, straight from the registry. IP addresses too.

Type a domain to see its expiry date and the days left, read from the registry. If your own domain expires within a month, renew it or check that auto-renew is on; if someone else's has expired, it may be in a grace or redemption period before it becomes available.

How it works

Domain Expiration Checker is a web page. The name you type is looked up by our server and sent back to you; it is not stored. There is no account and no sign-up; to keep it quick for everyone, each connection has an hourly limit, well above normal use.

After expiry

Most endings give a grace period of about 30 to 45 days and then a redemption period of about 30 days, when only the old owner can restore the name, before it is deleted and released.
