The page starts with 0.375: three decimal places, so it is 375/1000, and dividing both by 125 gives 3/8. For a repeating decimal, put the repeating digits in brackets, 0.(3) or 0.1(6), and the exact fraction appears. Type a fraction to go the other way.

    How it works

Decimal to Fraction Calculator is a web page that does its work on your own device. Everything you type or choose is worked out by your browser and never sent to a server, so nothing is stored and there is nothing to delete. There is no account, no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.

    Repeating decimals

    If x = 0.333…, then 10x = 3.333…, and subtracting x leaves 9x = 3, so x = 3/9 = 1/3. The calculator does the same for any repeating block.
