- MeasureType the length and width, or the width of a round bed, and the depth.
- Read the amountCubic yards, tons and bags appear at once. Add a price to see the cost.
The page starts with topsoil 4 inches deep over 10 feet by 10 feet: 1.23 cubic yards, about 1.3 tons, or 45 bags of 0.75 cubic feet. For a raised bed, type its inside length and width and its full depth.
How it works
Topsoil Calculator is a web page that does its work on your own device. Everything you type or choose is worked out by your browser and never sent to a server, so nothing is stored and there is nothing to delete. There is no account, no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.
Raised beds
A raised bed 8 feet by 4 feet and 12 inches deep holds 32 cubic feet, about 1.2 cubic yards. Soil settles by up to a fifth after watering, so fill a little over the top or add some extra.
