How it works
Mulch Calculator is a web page that does its work on your own device. Everything you type or choose is worked out by your browser and never sent to a server, so nothing is stored and there is nothing to delete. There is no account, no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.
How deep should mulch be?
Two to three inches is the usual advice for garden beds: enough to keep weeds down and hold moisture without smothering roots. Keep mulch a few inches away from plant stems and tree trunks.
Bags to the yard
A cubic yard of mulch fills 13.5 bags of 2 cubic feet or 9 bags of 3 cubic feet.
