What this tool does with your password
- The password you type is checked by your browser on your own device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is never stored.
- Nothing about the password is counted: not its length, not its characters, not the words in it. Once per visit we count only which of the five strength levels was seen.
- The word lists the check uses are downloaded from our own site the first time you type, like the rest of the page. After that the page works with no connection at all.
- There is no account and no cookie. We count visits with a code that changes every day and cannot identify you, plus the site that linked you here and your device type.
