How it works

Loan Payment Calculator is a web page that does its work on your own device. Everything you type or choose is worked out by your browser and never sent to a server, so nothing is stored and there is nothing to delete. There is no account, no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it.

APR versus interest rate

Lenders quote an APR that includes some fees. Typing the APR here gives a slightly higher payment than the note rate, which is a fair way to compare offers.

Questions

Does it work for a mortgage?

It gives the principal and interest part. A mortgage payment usually adds property tax, insurance and sometimes PMI on top.
