• Bookmarks are kept: each file gets a bookmark in the merged PDF with its own bookmarks inside it.
• Links that jump to another page keep working, and form fields stay fillable, with clashing field names numbered.
• Shared fonts and images are stored once and fonts are trimmed, so merged files are much smaller with no visible change.
• A clearer message when only one usable file is left to merge.
