Common questions
Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
No. The resizing is done by your own browser and the files never leave your computer. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
What size should Etsy listing photos be?
Etsy recommends at least 2000 pixels on the shortest side for listing images, which is why 2000px is the first preset. Much larger than that mostly wastes upload time.
Why did my transparent PNG come out with a white background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Choose PNG or WebP instead if you need the transparency kept.
Which format should I pick?
JPG for photographs, which is what most marketplaces expect. WebP for the web when you want the same quality in a smaller file. PNG for logos, screenshots and anything with transparency or sharp text.
Can I make a small picture bigger?
Not with this tool. Enlarging an image cannot add detail that was never captured, so it only makes the picture look soft. Images already smaller than the size you ask for are left alone.
Can I resize a photo in KB or cm?
This tool resizes by pixels. To get a photo under a file size such as 50 KB, use Compress Image. For exam forms that fix both the pixel size and the KB range, use the Exam Photo and Signature Resizer.
Nothing happens when I pick a file
The tool runs entirely in your browser, so a very old browser can fail silently. Try the current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Your files are never uploaded anywhere.
