Common questions

What photo and signature size does SSC ask for?

SSC's 2026 notices ask for a scanned signature as a JPEG of 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high. SSC takes the photograph with the camera inside its own application form, so there is no photo file to prepare.

What are the UPSC photo and signature limits?

UPSC's online application instructions ask for JPG files between 20 KB and 300 KB, with each side between 350 and 1000 pixels, for both the photograph and the signature.

What size should the IBPS photo and signature be?

IBPS guidelines give 200 × 230 pixels and 20 to 50 KB for the photograph, and 140 × 60 pixels and 10 to 20 KB for the signature, in JPG. The signature must be in black ink and not in capital letters.

What are the limits for NEET, JEE Main and CUET?

NTA information bulletins ask for a JPG photograph between 10 KB and 200 KB. Signature limits vary a little between bulletins, from 4 or 10 KB up to 30 KB, so the tool aims for 10 to 30 KB, which passes both.

Why is my signature file bigger than 140 × 60 pixels?

A clean signature on white paper compresses so well that at 140 × 60 pixels it can come out below the 10 KB minimum. When a form gives the pixel size as preferred, the tool makes the image larger, keeping the same shape, until the file reaches the minimum. It never adds hidden data to pad the file.

Is 20 KB counted as 20,000 or 20,480 bytes?

Portals differ, so the tool counts the strict way for each limit: the largest size as 1,000 bytes per KB and the smallest as 1,024 bytes per KB. The file passes whichever way the form counts.

Will my application be accepted?

The tool gets the file type, file size and pixel size right, but each exam body also checks that the photo is recent and clear and the signature is your own. Rules change between notices, so check the notice for your exam before you upload.

Are my photo and signature uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your own browser, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
